Moved by the classic beauty of 19th century fine art and architecture and its sense of sophisticated elegance – from the tiny interior feminine details to the expansive veranda – stylist LAUREN FIELD DESIGN worked with UNTAMED HEART PHOTOGRAPHY to capture the romantic and intimate nature of this traditional Victorian estate as two become one.

Lauren tells us, “We chose a softly hued palette of mauve and sage paired with natural elements and rich neutrals inspired by figurative watercolour paintings and antique tapestries. We were influenced by the beauty of the grand interior spaces that were filled with natural light, weathered wood floors, and baroque furnishings. The peaceful stone-walled gardens provided a lush setting for the gathering table.

We set the table with textured florals and antique brass candlesticks atop silk layers. The bamboo chairs were adorned with airy chiffon to catch the breeze. We chose antique silverware with crushed velvet ribbon, soft pink plates, and flax napkins for each place setting. The cake donned watercolour texture and tiny pleated mauve embellishments with a wooden stand.

The bride was dressed in blush hues and a lacy boudoir ensemble with simple layers, intricate details, and gold accessories. This look was chic and romantic with softly coiled hair and a cathedral veil. She carried a bouquet of deeply hued blooms accented with plant dyed silk ribbon.

Elegance is a glowing inner peace. Glamour only radiates if there is a sublime courage & bravery within.”

Enhancing the venue’s rustic feel, the team created a classic, earthy vibe with touches of metallic glam thanks to gorgeous gold cutlery by Gold Wedding Hire, a cake by Emma Hewins and flawless hair and makeup by Elina Valttila of E.V. Hair and Makeup.
Breathtaking in a Jennifer Gifford Designs gown, Maya of Que Models also wore a Molten Store headpiece and jewellery while her counterpart Taylor rocked a Black Jacket Suiting ensemble. Overall, we think it works quite nicely!

With a cheese platter, plenty of champagne and a sunset picnic overlooking the beautiful fields in the Sunshine Coast Hinterlands, it ticks all the boxes. And the ticks of approval don’t stop there.

The two joined together in the beautiful Maleny Manor, surrounded by their family and friends. With eyes only on Tom, Aliese walked down the aisle and after a quick kiss, she said ‘I do’ in a romantic and intimate ceremony.

The loved up couple’s wedding was simple yet elegant, choosing Maleny manor for its understated beauty and pristine outlook. Fitting with the season Autumn, Aliese chose deep burgundy flowers with four different blush dresses for the bridesmaids. On the tables were a range of mismatched brass candlesticks and vessels for the burgundy flowers, adding a sense of glamour to the setting.

What made the day all the more special was the couple’s ability to relax and truly enjoy each moment. Throughout the planning process Aliese says she stuck by the quote ‘A wedding is a party, not a performance. If at the end of the day you are married to the one you love, then everything went perfectly.’ “I found this quote early in the planning process and sent it to my fiancé. I told him to show it to me if he ever thought I was getting a little crazy. It was perfect. Every time I started to get carried away with silly ideas he would remind me of the reason we were planning this wedding in the first place – to marry the one we love.”

The day was captured by the talented Prue Franzmann Photography. Scroll down to see Aliese and Tom’s beautiful wedding!

From Kurt Boomer… My love for film knows no bounds and that inspired me to teach workshops that focused on the medium. In the mind of keeping film alive, I wanted to teach those photographers who see the beauty in film that regardless of night or day, it is a truly amazing way to capture any image. What better place to learn and to shoot indoor light, outdoor light and everything in between than Sunstone Villa. The Italian stone of the interior, the beautiful light of Santa Ynez that bathes the exterior in warm pastel hues. Joy Proctor Design was the force behind all of the gorgeous shoots and it’s always a thrill to see what she comes up with. We started with a delft china inspiration for the dinner table set up and went from there. We incorporated a moody and romantic boudoir shoot in the gorgeous interior of Sunstone to start. Worked in the beautiful olive groves in the waning sunlight. Led a gorgeous real couple throughout various rooms and the exterior. Gossamer Vintage and Jennifer Gifford Designs provided the most beautiful gowns along with Girl With a Serious Dream’s lingerie. Amy Osaba brought the most beautiful florals and worked her magic in all of the shoots. Written Word Calligraphy created amazingly beautiful paper goods and Neve Albums displayed the importance and beauty of tangible prints. Special thanks to Jess Wilcox for hair and makeup and Jon and Amy Cu, Mary McCloud, Mary Wynn, Joy Nicolas and all of the vendors for lending their time and help. It was truly two days of beauty all while learning film photography.
